SoCal ThrowCal is partnering with The Throw Down Cornhole Tournament to bring a new Axeperience

WATL - National  tournament in 2026 with Hatchet (Advanced and Amatuer), Duals, Big Axe, Knives, and Kinfe Duals.  Other side competitions include, and Axehole corn hole contest.  We will have up to 12 targets with no countertop interference.  Ceilings are 20 ft   As a National Tournament there will be many WATL Worlds Bids up for grabs:  8 Open Hatchet Bids,  8 Amateur Hatchet Bids, 8 Big Axe Bids,  4 Hatchet Duals Bids, 8 Knives, 4 Knives Duals

100% payout.  For hatchet it is 50% of registration fees to payout.  The other 50% is split between Open and Amateur.   Amateur will have 20% of total instead of 10%.  Final totals and payouts are dependent on registration levels.  This years payouts are expected to be lower that previous years due to a reduction in registration fees.

We are eliminating most of the side tournaments this year.  Primarily because The ThrowDown has so many fun things to experience

Cornhole for Axeholes:  Saturday 7:30pm, $25 buy-in, bracketed, double-elimination, 

 sign up in person.  Register Same Spot on our website.  We will do our best to make this happen but depends on timing of our events with corn hole crews

Registration closes August 18.  Register by August 1st to be included in a raffle that includes one free registration.   Make your registration now as we are limited to 100 spots.  You can put 10% down and pay the rest 10 days prior to the event (Highly recommended to reserve your spot!)   

Fees are $100 for Pro hatchet, $75 per person for AM Hatchet and duals, $100 for Big Axe.  Knives: $100 per person,  $75 per person for Knife Duals.  Since this is 100% payout we will add an additional $5 software fee per discipline that we have to pay.  All throwers will also get a free General Admission 3-day ticket to the festival for free  

We are expecting about 25,000 spectators.   This is a huge throwing festival with 5-6 live bands daily, Celebrity appearances, open bars, and food and misc experiences the entire weekend.   All tournament contestants have price of admission included in their registration.   All non-throwers, including family and friends, will need to purchase General Admission Festival Access Pass.  $29/day or 56 for 3-day pass.     Use our Promo code and get discounted 10% off for 3-day pass with  (AXETHROW26) link HERE:   Children 12 and under are free.   Parking also runs about $20-$25 per day which goes to the fair grounds.

This year the SoCal ThrowCal will located at the Ventura County Fair Grounds.  This location is about 200yrds to the beach, down the beach from Surfers' Point, 1 mile from Main Street Ventura which has amazing restaurants and nightlife and 2 miles from Ventura Harbor.   Other major tourist areas include, Santa Barbara (27 miles north), Santa Monica (60 miles south), Hollywood (60 miles east),  Magic Mountain (70 miles east), Universal Studios (60 miles east), the Channel Island Archipelagos, and many more axeciting visitor opportunities .   Los Angeles international airport is about 70 miles or 1.5 - 2 hours away depending on traffic.   Easier but smaller regional airports include, Burbank Airport (69 miles) and Santa Barbara Airport (only 37 miles, but limited flights) 

There are limited spots to bring a trailer to the venue and Glamp with 50 other trailers.  Camper sites have 30 amp power and daily water and waste service.  Cost is $850 for the weekend.  Check HERE, and click on 4-day RV Camping

There are numerous hotels in the area:  Check HERE.   It can get a bit pricey in the Ventura area in the summer however, there are less expensive AirBnBs and hotels within 30 min drive in areas like Camarillo, Oxnard, Newbury Park, Thousand Oaks, Etc.   Cars are just part of the LA area!!!
